Beards on Boat Rundown
Updated: Aug 1, 2019
It may have taken a huge amount of planning and one or two bumps in the road along the way but Bearded Villains East Anglia are proud to announce that Beards on a Boat AKA Grill'n'fest was a roaring success!
Charters Bar Peterborough were kind enough to lend us their outside area to host the event, all in the name of charity. The order of the day was to raise money and awareness for Men's mental health charity Andy's Man Club and the fantastic work they do supporting men in speaking up about any issues they may be facing. Andy's Man Club provide a safe space for men to come and open up about a wide range of issues that they may be facing, making sure no man in need is left behind.
Despite less than favourable weather, the kids enjoyed the array of games provided and Bearded Villains East Anglia's very own resident chef had the grill fired up, serving superb, fresh barbecue food all day, everything from classic cheeseburgers to brisket and pulled pork was available. Also on offer were a selection of stunning homemade baked goods including biscuits, cupcakes and brownies which all but sold out. Whilst the food was devoured a selection of live bands entertained the crowd well into the night.
All entry money, donations and food sales went into the fundraising pot, upon final count we blew past our target and raised a total of £1551, all of which was given directly to Andy's Man Club.
Bearded Villains East Anglia and Andy's Man Club would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all who attended the event and donated and helped make the day a huge success.
